Dentistry
Each of our locations has a dental and surgical suite! All of our dental procedures are done under anesthesia and include full-mouth dental radiographs. Our experienced veterinarians can perform extractions if medically necessary. Pre-operative bloodwork is recommended within 3 months of scheduling your pet for a surgical or dental procedure, to ensure they are a good surgical candidate. Urgent care
When emergencies happen, our urgent care services are here to provide immediate attention. During business hours, we will do our very best to see your pet. However, if we are unable to accommodate your visit or if an emergency takes place after-hours, we recommend that you call one of the local emergency or urgent cares listed on our "After Hours & Urgent Care" page.

I cannot recommend District Vet Navy Yard enough! Dr. Warshawsky and Dr. London are both phenomenal veterinarians who truly excel at what they do.... They’re incredibly personable and so gentle with my cats — my smaller one was pretty sick and was actually purring during his exam with Dr. London.When my little cat needed a diagnosis, both doctors approached it with the perfect balance of urgency and thoughtfulness. They took the necessary precautions while being mindful of cost, working through things step by step so we could get answers without breaking the bank. As pet parents, we all want our animals happy and healthy, and being able to achieve that without financial stress makes such a difference.And an equally big shoutout to the vet techs, they’re all so wonderful with the animals, not just mine but every pet I see them interact with in the lobby. Taylor is one of our favorites! The entire team makes you feel like you and your pet truly matter. It never feels cold, clinical, or transactional which I’ve experienced at most other vet clinics.When I received some potentially difficult news about my cat, the bedside manner was everything I could ask for. The communication was clear and transparent without being alarmist, with a calm, step-by-step approach to ruling things out and plans laid out for each potential outcome.I also really appreciate that the doctors and techs are patient when I ask them to repeat information or clarify things — I sometimes have trouble retaining verbal information, especially when stressed, and they’ve never once made me feel like a burden. That patience goes a long way in removing stress during an already worrying time.As a millennial, I’m allergic to phone calls so I’m throwing extra points on the board for the new online booking system!read more

We took our new rescue cat for a first visit here. Normally we would go to the District Vet at Eastern Market & they were fully booked.Great... people, great vet, but parking is non-existent. When it's easier to park at Eastern Market, you know it's crazy to park in the Navy Yard neighbourhood!read more

Honest and upfront pricing for veterinarian services. Dr Hayes was kind and patient with our wimpy Shepherd, Stella. She gave advice, options, and... transparent pricing for all services she recommended. She also did a great job at providing us with information on the best products and supplements to support our dog as she enters her senior years.read more

DVH is great! Our hound has been treated by multiple vets and vet-techs and each experience has been great. For me, the sign of a good vet experience... is that they talk to the animal and get down on the floor to be at eye level and make the animal comfortable. They do this here. And, we never have trouble getting an appointment. 10/10 recommend.read more
This vet office is great! My dog loves everyone there and when I’m sitting in the waiting room most of the pets coming in are so excited to be there... and see the staff. They always go above and beyond, emailing the day after to check in on my pets, cleaning out my poop-filled cat carrier, giving them toys, remembering them, etc. I love this practice!!!! And more importantly, so do my pets!!read more
District Veterinary Hospital is exemplary in care, customer service, compassion. After not so great experiences with both my dog and cat elsewhere, I... switched to DVH and I am overwhelmed with relief that I did so.Dr. Nichols’ is incredible. She approached my reactive dog without fear, a neutral emotional response, and patience. In fact all staff was completely patient, supportive, and understanding through his tantrums and willing to work through it to make it a good experience for my dog. Dr. Nichols’ really took her time assessing my pets and approached her examinations with thorough intellectual curiosity. I always leave feeling like the utmost was done for my pets and without any residual concerns that maybe something was missed.The entire staff, front desk and vet techs alike, are kind, helpful, compassionate, and interested in meeting your furry best friends.Three cheers to District Vet!read more
I don't usually take time out to write reviews, but after the wonderful care District Vet showed to my dog, I had to do it. My dog was experiencing... unspecified pain in his knee and neck, and I grew concerned as he whimpered and wasn't his good old self. I was able to schedule a visit immediately using their user-friendly online portal. The vets there were kind and highly experienced, and administered the right medication for my dog. It has been a few days, and he is back to full energy and playing like he used to. I am so grateful to have this hospital near me, and I would highly recommend using their services!read more
I've visited all three district vet locations over the years and have only had positive experiences. The vets always reach out after appointments to... check on how my cat was doing, they explained everything clearly, and told me costs before performing any bloodwork. It's not cheap, but that is any vet care.read more
I absolutely love this place. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful—they always take the time to answer all my questions about my dog. He recently... had to undergo multiple surgical procedures, and since he’s a senior (12 years old), I was really worried. Dr. Evans and Dr. Hayes were amazing; they helped me feel confident throughout the process and addressed every concern I had.We recently had a large mass removed, and he’s now recovering. The team checks in regularly to see how he’s doing, and their attentiveness means a lot. Every time I bring him in, I feel like he’s in truly good hands.read more

I take my 2 dogs to District Veterinary Hospital at Eastern Market. They are a fantastic state of the art full service group of Vets and excellent... support staff to take your pets to. We are from out of state and needed emergency blood work for our little dog with ITP. District Veterinary Hospital at Eastern Market scheduled us in... quickly, did a thorough and gentle exam, did the blood work, analyzed and carefully explained everything, and patiently answered our questions (we had a lot of them!). Dr. Camden and all of the techs and receptionists we worked with were first-rate. We could not have been happier with the compassionate and kind care our little pup received. I love Dr. Evans. This vet is 45min from my house but the team here is so kind and professional I’d never go anywhere else. My dog is nervous with... other vets but Dr. Evans keeps her calm and happy to come to the vet. Can’t say enough good things about this place.read more
