Dentistry
Each of our locations has a dental and surgical suite! All of our dental procedures are done under anesthesia and include full-mouth dental radiographs. Our experienced veterinarians can perform extractions if medically necessary. Pre-operative bloodwork is recommended within 3 months of scheduling your pet for a surgical or dental procedure, to ensure they are a good surgical candidate. Urgent care
When emergencies happen, our urgent care services are here to provide immediate attention. During business hours, we will do our very best to see your pet. However, if we are unable to accommodate your visit or if an emergency takes place after-hours, we recommend that you call one of the local emergency or urgent cares listed on our "After Hours & Urgent Care" page.

District Vet has been our family's vet for nearly a decade. Our first dog was treated at their Brookland location. We trusted them so much that when... the time came to say our last goodbye to her, we took her back there for one last time. We always appreciated their high level of care, compassion, and approach to healing. When we heard our favorite vet, Dr. Walker is back full-time at the newly open Navy Yard facility, we immediately transferred our new dog's records. Our first visit was nothing short of wonderful. It was easy to find street parking (we booked an early morning appointment). The neighborhood has plenty of walking options and is clearly dog friendly. The look and feel of the space, with welcoming and warm staff. made us feel at ease and comfortable. And having our four legged companion in the care of Dr.Walker has made our already pleasant experience a perfect one. We give our highest recommendations to District Vet in general, but especially to their newly open Navy Yard location.read more

Still loving District Vet another year later! Dr. Walker in Navy Yard is also great!----------Our pet was a patient at the Brookland location and... we started going to the Navy Yard location after moving to the neighborhood last year. The practice has continued to be very responsive and supportive to our pet's needs (and she's a tricky one that we've got). We've been able to get appointments even on short notice and medications when needed. Dr. Warshawsky at Navy Yard has been particularly attentive and helpful since we switched location and I highly recommend her! The other vets I’ve met have also been so nice. The desk staff and vet techs have all been professional and helpful as well. I’ve been satisfied with District Vet in the four and a half years my pet has been their patient!read more

I love taking my boy here, they are kind, friendly, have availability, don't nickle and dime you (like others we've been to).
Our vet is patient and knowledgeable. She listens and is thoughtful in her advice. Never had a vet who could measure up to her!
